I'm Richard Stretton, an Englishman living in Aotearoa (New Zealand) since 2005. I've built model airports since I was a child collecting 1/600 scale Schabaks. In 2014 I started my own aviation history website Yesterday's Airlines (http://yesterdaysairlines.weebly.com). This has grown into a great resource for exploring aviation history through my model collection and has spawned several new model airports including this one.
This site is designed as a dedicated place for Xīn lóng (New Dragon) International Airport. The airport is a chance to highlight my ever growing modern fleet of Chinese airlines (most of my collection is of classics) and so is designed to represent a modern style airport of the type you might find in China.
Construction began in July 2015 and was largely complete by January 2016. The construction process is detailed over at my airport blog back at Yesterday's Airlines (see the blog link above). I hope you enjoy your visit to Xīn Lóng and if you want to contact me you can do so below: |
